Stree 2 Box Office First Day First Show: Stree 2 has recorded an impressive box office collections with its paid previews and first day first show screenings. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead, the film was undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated releases this year. Stree 2 has clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham’s Vedaa. Stree 2 has earned an estimate of Rs 23.06 Cr, as per reports.
Sacnilk.com reported that Stree 2 has collected an estimate of Rs 8 Cr through paid previews. Until 2 PM on August 15, the publication reported that Stree 2 has collected an estimate of Rs 15.06 Cr through the morning shows. The morning show witnessed an occupancy of 55.42 per cent.
Stree 2 has opened to positive reviews. News18 gave the film a 3.5/5 rating and wrote in the review, “The first half of the film sails by smoothly, but the second half hits choppy waters.” The review added, “On the acting front, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao steer the ship effortlessly to the end. It’s refreshing to see Shraddha in an action role, and she should explore more of it in the future. However, it’s disappointing that her role is limited, especially given how much the Stree universe relies on her character. Rajkummar Rao delivers another memorable performance, showcasing his versatility across genres, from serious in Shrikant to emotionally intense in Mr & Mrs Mahi, and now comedy in Stree 2.”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is the sequel to Stree which released in 2018. Fans have waited for six years for the sequel to arrive. While the first Stree was written by Raj & DK, of The Family Man, whereas Stree 2 has been written by Niren Bhatt, who previously showcased his craft in Bhediya. Stree 2 sets up a new villain that might play a bigger role in the future of Dinesh Vijan’s Horror-Comedy Universe.
Trade experts had placed their bets on Stree 2 to work better than its competition. Trade guru Atul Mohan said, “Stree 2 will have a landslide win. It’s a one-sided situation. It almost feels like a solo film is releasing. It will attract audiences in both multiplexes and single screens. In fact, Stree 2 controls 50 percent of the multiplex screens and shows. I’m expecting it to garner Rs 25 crore on day one. I wouldn’t be surprised if it even hits Rs 30 crore.”
