Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at 7:30 AM, followed by his address to the nation. He will deliver his eleventh consecutive speech on August 15.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 2024: This year marks India’s 78th Independence Day, which falls on Thursday, August 15. The day commemorates India’s independence from British domination. It is a national holiday for government and private workplaces, banks, schools and colleges, and nearly every other organisation in the country.

To commemorate the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag and address the country with a speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi. PM Modi will hoist the national flag at 7:30 AM, followed by his address to the nation. PM Modi will deliver his eleventh consecutive speech on August 15. Citizens across the country can watch the celebrations live on a variety of platforms, including social media sites, television networks, and more.

When and Where To Watch PM Narendra Modi’s August 15 Speech

The Independence Day celebrations will be live-streamed on the Indian government’s official social media sites.

The celebrations will also be broadcast live on PM Modi’s YouTube page and other social media platforms.

In addition, many other news networks, including Doordarshan, will broadcast the event live.

All India Radio’s national channels will carry the entire ceremony live in English with commentary in Hindi. Throughout the day, All India Radio will air various patriotic and cultural programmes. The regional Doordarshan and Akashwani stations in several states will broadcast local Independence Day events.

At the end of the speech, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps sing the national anthem, and boys and girls NCC cadets (Army, Navy, and Air Force) from different schools across the country participate in this celebration of patriotic fervour.

Last year, Doordarshan’s live coverage of Independence Day celebrations included nearly 40 camera perspectives of Prime Minister Modi unfurling the Tricolour at the Red Fort.

The coverage of Independence Day celebrations begins at 7 PM with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day, August 14.
