Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have jointly shared a series of unseen photos from their engagement on Instagram amid trolling. The couple, who has been the subject of dating rumours for over two years, dropped the pics accompanied by a poetic caption. The post included verses from the Kurunthogai, translated by A.K. Ramanujan: “What could my mother be to yours? What kin is my father to yours anyway? And how did you and I meet ever? This is for the first time Naga Chaitanya has shared any photo with Sobhita on his social media profile. While they were rumoured to be dating for a while, they never reacted to the speculations.
The engagement took place on Thursday morning in an intimate ceremony at Chaitanya’s home, attended only by close family members. Shortly afterward, Naga Chaitanya’s father, superstar Nagarjuna, took to X (formerly Twitter) to officially share the happy news. He posted the first photos of the newly engaged couple and expressed his joy, writing, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m.! Rumours about Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita’s relationship began circulating in May 2023 when they were first spotted together in Hyderabad. Their bond drew further attention after a viral photo from their European holiday in June showed the couple enjoying a wine-tasting session, adding fuel to the speculation.
Despite the joyous occasion, the couple has faced relentless trolling from fans of Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife. Samantha and Chaitanya announced their separation in October 2021 after four years of marriage, requesting privacy as they moved forward with their lives.
