Ishan Kishan will begin his preparations for the upcoming domestic season with the multi-day tournament in Chennai.

Ishan Kishan is all set to return to the domestic circuit and the wicketkeeper-batter will turn up for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu invitational tournament which begins on August 15 in Chennai.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and men’s senior selection committee has already made it clear that all available players need to play for their respective states and Kishan, looking to find a way back into the Indian side, wants to make most of the upcoming season.

The conditions are challenging and it’s the right way to prepare yourself for the long domestic grind ahead,” says a source aware of the development.

The Indian cricket board has time and again reminded players about playing in the domestic circuit and the latest came during the ODI, T20I squad announcements for Sri Lanka series.

“The BCCI will continue to monitor player availability and participation in the upcoming domestic cricket season, 2024-25,” read the media advisory.

The youngster lost his central contract and place in the senior team but the upcoming domestic tournaments presents a golden opportunity for him to make his way back into the squads. The left-hander has been in and out of the Playing XIs but he consistently made India squads, across formats, in absence of Rishabh Pant.

While the Jharkhand Cricket Association is still tight-lipped on Kishan’s plans for the season but his teammates have confirmed his availability and participation.
