Indian archer Tarundeep Rai was shown the exit door in the men’s individual recurve by Brit Tom Hall, who clinched a 6-4 win over the 40-year-old at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Wednesday.

Hall got the beating of Rai 27-27, 28-27, 25-28, 29-28, 29-29 to move into the subsequent round of the event.

The Indian and the Brit matched each other blow for blow in the first set as they both scored 27 points each.

pipped the Indian by a single point in the second set as he struck a 10 on the third attempt after a couple of 9s, as compared to Rai’s three 9s.

Rai took the third set 27-25 to level the fixture at 3 points each. However, the Brit seized the advantage in the fourth set as he edged out Rai by a single point 29-28, which set him up well to take the fixture with just a single point from the fifth set.

And Hall did just that as he picked up a point in the fifth set by matching Rai’s score of 29 to get the win.
