A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda when a 32-year-old widow and her 22-year-old nephew, Ravindra Kumar, took their own lives on Sunday. Both individuals jumped in front of a moving train near the Kathowa railway crossing. The woman, a widow living in the Itiathok area, had reportedly been in a romantic relationship with her nephew. Despite her attempts to pursue this relationship, she faced significant familial disapproval.

The police were notified of the incident and arrived at the scene to conduct a post-mortem examination. The case is under investigation and further details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.

The woman lived with her two young children, a son (8) and a daughter (3), and had developed a romantic relationship with her nephew, Ravindra. The relationship was met with strong disapproval from both families. Ravindra’s parents had intended for him to marry someone else, however, he opposed the arranged marriage.
