The IMD has also issued red alert for Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh on July 19; Gujarat on July 21 and Saurashtra and Kutch on July 22

Heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Mumbai and suburbs in the next 24 hours, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai. Meanwhile, extremely heavy rain (red alert) is likely over central Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha on July 19 and 20, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has also issued red alert for Gujarat, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, south Odisha and south Chhattisgarh on July 19; Gujarat on July 21 and Saurashtra and Kutch on July 22.

RAINFALL WARNING

  • Odisha: South Odisha is likely to get light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places is very likely over South Odisha on July 19 and 20 July and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 19. North Odisha is likely to get light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 19 and 20.
  • Gangetic West Bengal: Light to moderate rainfall is very likely at most places on July 19 and 20.
  • Andhra Pradesh: North Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to see light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places is most likely on July 19 and 20 and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 19. In South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 19 and 20.
  • Jharkhand: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely on July 20.
  • Chhattisgarh: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely on July 19 and 20 and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places on July 19.
  • Telangana and Vidarbha: Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely on July 19. Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely on July 20.

WEST, CENTRAL, EAST AND SOUTH PENINSULAR INDIA FORECAST

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning very likely over the region during the next five days.

Orange alert: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated/some places over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat State, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during the next five days; Kerala and Mahe, Telangana from July 19-21; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on July 19, 20; Tamil Nadu on July 19 and 20; over Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada on July 20; Madhya Pradesh from July 20-23.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and North Interior Karnataka during the next five days; Rayalaseema on July 19; Marathwada on July 19, 20; Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand on July 20 and 22.

NORTHWEST INDIA FORECAST

Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi; isolated to scattered rainfall likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Rajasthan during the next five days.

Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, East Rajasthan during the next five days, Punjab and West Rajasthan on July 21, 22.

Orange alert: Isolated very heavy rainfall is also likely over East Rajasthan on July 21; Himachal Pradesh on July 22 and 23 and Uttarakhand from July 20-22.

NORTHEAST INDIA FORECAST

Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning is very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Northeast India during the next five days.

Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next four-five days; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on July 20, 21.
