Cairo: Syrian air defense has encountered missiles fired by Israel in the skies over Damascus, the state news agency said on Friday.
A Syrian military source said in a statement published on state television: “The enemy of Israel launched an air strike from the southeast of Beirut, targeting some points around the city of Damascus.”
Syrian TV showed visuals of air defenses facing the target over Damascus.
“Our air defense encountered and shot down most of the attacker’s missiles, and damage was limited to material,” the statement said.
