World’s Largest Millet Burger Weighing 100kg

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has been promoting millets as a healthier alternative to foodgrains like wheat and rice, A hotel in Agra made world’s largest burger.

In a bid to promote the use of millets, an Agra hotel has prepared the world’s largest millet burger, weighing a recordbreaking 100 kilograms.

Made by nationally acclaimed chef Sharandeep Singh aka ‘Burger Chachu’ of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, the ‘Gold Burger’ was used to feed hundreds of children in Agra.

Vivek Mahajan, general manager of Hotel Grand Mercure, said that fast food, which also includes burgers, causes illness. But we have made a burger that will not cause disease but will benefit the body. Mostly millets have been used to make this burger. Prime Minister Narendra Modi says that more and more people of the country should consume millets, as they are good for health, and also benefit farmers.

He said that we made this 100 kg Gold Burger using mostly millets like ragi, kangani, with cucumber, tomato and other ingredients. “Our main objective of making Gold Burger from millets was to make people aware about millets and use as much millets as possible in their homes.

“I think this will be the world’s largest gold burger made from coarse grains, whose weight itself is about 100 kg. After making this burger, it was fed to hundreds of children in the city. Seeing the joy on the faces of the children after eating the burgers was palpable,” he added.

Executive Chef of the hotel, Pramod Kumar said that preparations were being made many days in advance to make this burger. Burger Chachu alias Sharandeep Singh of Hoshiarpur, who is famous in the country for his burgers, had been specially called to make the burger.
