Punjab Kings have named Australian pacer Nathan Ellis as their replacement player for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League, starting September 19 in the UAE.

Punjab Kings will miss Riley Meredith and Kane Richardson during the second leg of IPL.

“Earlier today, Punjab Kings announced a new addition to their roster, adding new Australian sensation Nathan Ellis. The pacer will be part of the squad for the remainder of the 2021 Vivo Indian Premier League, and is expected to join the team camp soon after he ends his quarantine.”

Ellis recently set the T20 world on fire as he became the first bowler to take a hat-trick on his international debut. Ellis claimed the figures of 3/34 on his debut against Bangladesh in August 2021.

The youngster was also recently included in Australia’s reserve squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup.

Ellis was one of the standout performers of the 2021 Big Bash League. He was the leading wicket-taker for his franchise Hobart Hurricanes, taking 20 wickets in just 14 matches.

He played all the games for the franchise this season and almost reached the knockout stage.

Ellis gained a reputation as a wicket-taker for his franchise with an impressive bowling average of just over 22.
