The Oman cricket team made a great start to their World Cup 2023 qualifiers campaign, winning their first two games. Oman will now aim to extend their winning streak to three as they prepare to take on Sri Lanka in the qualifiers today. The qualifying match between Sri Lanka and Oman will be played at the Queen’s Sports Club in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have played one match in the competition so far and the Dasun Shanaka-led side pulled off a stunning 175-run win in that game against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In that match, Sri Lanka scored a mammoth score of 355 runs while batting first. Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka displayed his astonishing bowling abilities by taking six wickets against UAE. Hasaranga’s brilliant figures of 6/24 helped Sri Lanka restrict their opponents to a paltry total of 180.
Meanwhile, Oman will go into the contest after defeating UAE by five wickets. In their opening match of the competition, Oman defeated Ireland by five wickets. With four points, Oman are currently at the top of the Group B standings.
