Gurnoor, making his PBKS debut, bowled a brilliant opening over, conceding just two runs. All they could get was LSG skipper KL Rahul, who wanted to drive up and hit it straight to point where Atharva Tayde got both hands on the ball to his left but dropped it.

Meyers cleaned up the bowlers by hitting five fours and a big six on free hits in three overs. In the fourth over, Kagiso Rabada drew first blood as he sent back Rahul after hitting him for a six off the previous delivery.

Mayer continued to punish the PBKS bowlers with his big hitting as he brought up his fifty off just 20 balls inside the powerplay. But Rabada did not let him stay at the crease for long as he dismissed the dangerous batsman soon after completing his half-century. At the end of the powerplay, LSG were 74 for 2.

Marcus Stoinis and Ayush Badoni continued the onslaught as the duo kept the LSG bowlers at bay with their calculated hits and put on 89 runs in 47 balls for a third-wicket partnership and in the middle overs, LSG were strong, 7-15 overs Collected 110 runs between. Loss of one wicket.

Rahul Chahar almost trapped Stoinis in the 13th over but Liam Livingstone fouled it at the boundary line and the batsman survived with a six.

In the next over, Badoni concedes six runs over deep backward square leg and looks to go for another maximum. However, Livingstone had the last laugh as he managed to break a deadly looking partnership, dismissing Badoni for 43.

Badoni top-edges the ball towards the deep square leg fielder and Chahar judges it well and takes a good low catch. And Pooran completed the over hitting three back-to-back fours.

Then, Stoinis and Pooran kept the momentum going and shared a 76-run partnership off just 30 balls, which was broken by Sam Curran in the penultimate over, sending Stoinis back for 73.

Arshdeep denied Pooran a half-century in the final over. The former player went too far across the line and tried to scoop but missed and Jitesh Sharma collected it well behind the stumps but the umpire gave not out and went for PBKS review. Replays showed that the ball missed the bat and hit the pads on its way to the keeper. That’s why the decision to give out LBW has been overturned.

With five runs off the last two balls, LSG finished with 257/5 in 20 overs.
