New Delhi:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the next installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme through video conferencing on August 9 at 12:30 pm.
“This will enable transfer of an amount of over Rs 19,500 crore to more than 9.75 crore beneficiary farmer families. The Prime Minister will interact with farmer beneficiaries and also address the nation during the program,” read an official release by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6000 per year is provided to eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal four monthly installments of Rs 2000 each.
Funds are directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. So far, more than Rs 1.38 lakh crore worth of honor money has been transferred to farmer families under this scheme.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will also be present on this occasion.
Earlier on May 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released the 8th installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana through video conferencing.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the Maharashtra government is planning to relax more COVID-19 restrictions in the coming days, but with extreme caution and will also take a decision regarding local train travel.
“Maharashtra government is going to give more relaxations, but we are taking every step carefully. A decision will be taken for local train passengers also. We need to ensure that these relaxations prevent another wave of COVID-19. Don’t trigger,” said Mr. Thackeray said.
