While the XUV300 ICE SUV has a length of under 4 metres, Mahindra has revealed the XUV400 will measure 4200 mm in length. The electric SUV has a width of 1821 mm, a height of 1634 mm, and a 2600 mm long wheelbase.

Battery pack, charging time and range
Mahindra has revealed that the XUV400 will come equipped with a 39.4 kWh battery pack that returns a claimed range of 456 km on a single full charge. This battery pack can be charged from 0% to 80% in 50 minutes through a DC fast charger.
The Tata Nexon EV Prime gets a 30.2 kWh battery pack that provides the electric SUV an ARAI-certified range of 312 km. On the other hand, the Nexon EV Max gets a larger 40.5 kWh unit, which gives a claimed range of 437 km on a single full charge. With a 50 kW DC fast charger, the Nexon EV Max can be charged from 0% – 80% in 56 minutes, while the Nexon EV Prime will juice up from 10% to 80% in 60 minutes with a fast charger.
Electric motor specs
Mahindra has revealed that the XUV400 will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that belts out 150 PS (110 kW) of power and 310 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain will help the electric SUV sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 8.3 seconds.

The Tata Nexon EV Prime’s electric motor puts out 129 PS and 245 Nm, which can help it reach to 100 kmph from standstill in 9.9 seconds. In contrast, the Tata Nexon EV Max has a max power output of 143 PS and a peak torque rating of 250 Nm. The Nexon EV Max can hit the speed of 100 kmph from a dead stop in 9 seconds.

The Tata Nexon EV Prime is priced between Rs 14.99 lakh and Rs 17.50 lakh, while the Nexon EV Max retails from Rs 18.34 lakh to Rs 20.04 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Do note that pricing for the Mahindra XUV400 will be revealed in January 2023. We expect the company to launch the XUV400 electric SUV at a base price of around Rs 15 lakh.
