Lara Dutta’s dramatic transformation as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi into bellbottom left many on social media stunned. The actress received a largely positive response from him Bollywood Colleagues and fans. However, celebrity hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani seems to be unhappy with Lara’s look. The former Bigg Boss contestant has pointed out flaws in Lara’s prosthetics in the film.
Replying to a tweet about Lara Dutta’s impressive makeup in the film, Sapna wrote, “Such a bad wig can see its layer though. But of course, you wouldn’t because you’re not a child person. We’re not even close to mastering hair yet.” She also shared a close-up photo, demarcating the ‘wig line’ on Lara’s face in a still from Bellbottom. “This white glitter wig line See.. don’t like natural hairline at all,” she wrote.

Bellbottom, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, is based on a true story that follows an undercover RAW agent (played by Akshay) who is assigned a mission to rescue 210 hostages from a hijacked Indian plane .
At the trailer launch of Bellbottom, Lara Dutta opened up about preparing for her portrayal of Indira Gandhi. Lara said, “It was all a call saying, ‘Lara, this film is being made and we are casting for the role of Indira Gandhi and that’s what I really felt before I heard the script. ” and producer Jackky Bhagnani at a trailer launch event at a theater in New Delhi.
“But yeah, of course, it’s a huge responsibility when you’re portraying someone who is an iconic figure like him. There was a lot of homework and research behind it but it was the opportunity of a lifetime that I went for. Very grateful,” Lara said.
Bellbottom will be the first major Hindi film to release theatrically amid the pandemic. The film is directed by Ranjit M Tiwari. The film will release in theaters on August 19 in 2D and 3D formats.
