All the four people involved in the dead were laborers and had been working on the same site for several months.
An under-construction lift collapsed from the 19th floor in Mumbai’s Worli area amid ongoing rains in Maharashtra. 5 people have died in the accident, while the condition of 2 is critical. He has been admitted to KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
It is being told that this lift was made of wood and bamboo and it was used to take laborers to the 20-storey construction floor. Meanwhile, Maharashtra Environment Minister and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s son Aaditya Thackeray visited the spot. He said, it seems that initially the accident happened due to excessive number of people climbing the lift. The case is being investigated.
The families who lost their relatives after the accident are in a bad condition.
6 people were in the lift during the accident
During which the accident happened, there were 6 people in the lift and 2 people were standing below. Three people died on the spot due to falling from a height, while one died on the way to the hospital. Another injured died during treatment at around 10 pm. Three others are undergoing treatment. The accident took place on Hanuman Street, Ambika Builders Shankarrao footpath road in Worli.
Fire brigade team engaged in relief and rescue work.
According to information received from Worli Fire Brigade, this accident happened at 5.54 pm. Among the dead were Avinash Das (35), Laxman Mandal (35), Bharat Mandal (28) and two unidentified persons. One person was pulled from the rubble and sent to the hospital.
