Tuticorin : C Gyanraj Jebasingh, 39, son of former AIADMK minister ST Chellapandian, was detained under goonda act on Thursday. He is the mastermind of a gang of seven that attacked the driver of a container truck laden with cashew nuts and hijacked the vehicle along with cashew nuts and the driver, worth Rs 1.2 crore, in the early hours of November 26.

On Thursday, District Collector K Senthil Raj passed an order to detain the son of the former minister under the Goondas Act. A copy of the order was served to Gyanraj, who is lodged in the Palayamkottai Central Prison.
