Saif Ali Khan Recalls ‘Kissing Shot’ With Rani Mukerji In Hum Tum: ‘It Was Very Uncomfortable’

After more than a decade, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji are reuniting for Bunty Aur Babli 2, which will hit the theaters this Friday. Both the actors co-starred in the 2004 film Hum Tum and later in 2008’s Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Recently, the two recalled how “uncomfortable” they were while working in Hum Tum and shooting for the kissing scene in the film.

In a video uploaded on YouTube by Yash Raj Films, Saif revealed how Rani tried to persuade him to tell the makers that she didn’t want to kiss him. In the video, Rani asks Saif if he remembers how scared he was to shoot the kissing shot during the conversation. Saif replied, “I remember how scared you were to do the kissing shot. Saif again said that he couldn’t do it as his boss had asked him to do it for the film. After some hesitation The Queen agreed, stating that it was quite uncomfortable.

Saif further recalled being “extra nice” to reach the sets and get Rani to work. The Sacred Games actor said hesitantly, imitating Queen, “Okay, we’ll do it.” Saif said, “It was the worst kiss in the history of cinema.”

In their latest film Bunty Aur Babli 2, Saif and Rani will follow a pair of con-stars, the new Bunty Aur Babli, portrayed by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh. Bunty Aur Babli 2 is the sequel to the 2005 hit film Bunty Aur Babli. The prequel starred Abhishek Bachchan as Bunty and Rani as Babli.

Rani further discusses how her interactions with Saif have evolved over the course of 17 years from Hum Tum to Bunty Aur Babli 2. He said they now mainly communicate about their children.
