Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that no one will be allowed to disrupt peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a public meeting in Bhagwati Nagar area of Jammu city, Shah said, “The monopoly of three families has ended forever.”

“I don’t want to name them, but everyone knows them. They are asking us today what we have done. We have done what they could not do in 70 years.

“We have given employment, empowerment and space to those who have been neglected in 70 years.

He said, ‘Power will now be used by the Panch and Sarpanch, the days of monopoly and exploitation are over.’

He said that no one will be allowed to disrupt peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir at any cost.

“I have come to assure you that the days of injustice to Jammu are over. Now development will be for both Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Shah said he was apprehensive whether he would be able to address Sunday’s rally due to bad weather.

“With the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi, it is sunny now and I am talking to you.

“Today is a special day as it is the birthday of Prem Nath Dogra. Not only the people of Jammu, but the people of the entire country cannot forget him.

“He was a great personality who joined Syama Prasad Mookerjee and declared that a country cannot have two flags, two prime ministers and two constitutions.

“The souls of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Prem Nath Dogra are sending their blessings on Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Shah said.

Prem Nath Dogra was the founder of the Praja Parishad Party which was later merged with the Jana Sangh.

Earlier, Shah inaugurated the new campus at IIT-Jammu and also laid the foundation stone for several development projects.
