Naga Chaitanya’s father Nagarjuna reacts to his divorce with Samantha Ruth Prabhu

Star couple and internet favorite Samantha Ruth Prabhu Akkineni and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna’s son Naga Chaitanya have put an end to weeks of speculation and announced their separation after four years of marriage. The couple, popularly known as Chai-Sam, confirmed the news in an official Naga Chaitanya statement shared by Samantha, which they released on Saturday. He requested his fans and the media to allow him privacy.

Nagarjuna reacted to the development with a sweet parting note. Taking to social media, the superstar said: “With a heavy heart let me say this! Whatever happened between Sam and Chai is very unfortunate. What happens between a wife and a husband is very personal. I love both Sam and Chai. My family will always cherish the moments spent with Sam and he will always be dear to us. God bless them both.”

Earlier in the day, in a statement addressed to “our well-wishers”, Chaitanya said: “After much deliberation and deliberation, Sam and I have decided to separate as husband and wife to follow our path We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the core of our relationship and we believe that we will always have a special bond.”

The pair were first seen together in Gautham Menon’s 2010 Telugu film, Ye Maya Chesave.

Discussions about the break-up of the marriage intensified last month after Samantha removed ‘Akkineni’ from her name on her Twitter account, but neither paid heed to the rumours. Samantha and Naga Chaitanya got married in Goa in 2017.
