Mumbai Police on Saturday created a stir when a Class 9 student pranked them by saying that two terrorists would enter the iconic Taj Hotel, which was one of the targets of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

An anonymous call was received at the reception counter of the hotel in south Mumbai’s Colaba area at around 3.30 pm claiming that two terrorists were on their way to enter the hotel, a police official said.

The hotel immediately informed the police, following which a team of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs were sent to the building. After this the security was increased.

The call was finally traced to Karad in western Maharashtra’s Satara district and it was revealed that a boy studying in class 9 had made it up as a prank, the official said, adding that no case has been registered so far. has gone.

“We immediately alerted the authorities on receiving the call this morning. As confirmed by the investigating officers, it has now been established as a hoax. “Our safety and security teams have ensured that all our protocols and guidelines are being followed for the safety of our guests and associates,” a Taj Hotel spokesperson said.
