SRINAGAR: Ninety-nine terrorists have been killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir so far in Jammu and Kashmir, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said on Sunday.
Talking to reporters here in Srinagar, the IGP said that three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were killed in an encounter in Drabgam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district today.
He said the village was cordoned off jointly by Army, Police and CRPF after Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pulwama received information about the presence of three local Lashkar terrorists.
“The encounter started last evening in which 3 local Lashkar terrorists were killed, while two AK 47 rifles and a pistol were recovered from the encounter site,” he said. On May 13 and June 02, a non-local laborer was killed and two others were injured in an attack on workers at a brick kiln in Budgam.
When asked about the number of terrorists killed, the IGP said 99 terrorists have been killed so far this year- (KNO)
