9-year-old raped in Delhi: Girl raped in crematorium; Murdered and then cremated there, 4 arrested including the priest who conducted the rituals

A nine-year-old girl was raped in a crematorium in Delhi. After this, he was killed and cremated there silently. After the incident came to light, the police arrested the priest who performed the last rites and three employees of the crematorium. Delhi Women’s Commission President Swati Maliwal has summoned the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of South-West Zone on the afternoon of August 5, starting the investigation in this matter. In Old Nangal village, the girl had gone to the crematorium to get cold water from the water cooler, when she was molested.

She lived there with the family nearby. According to DCP Pointed Pratap Singh, the girl went there at around 5.30 pm on Sunday. Around six o’clock the priest and his companions called the girl’s mother and called and showed her body. He claimed that the girl died due to electrocution while drinking water from the cooler.

They also showed burn marks on his wrist and elbow. The accused even told the family members that if the matter reaches the police, then the body will be sent for postmortem. There the doctors will remove his vital organs and sell them. In this way, he intimidated the girl’s family and persuaded them to perform the last rites.

Police registered a case after protests
However, later the victim’s family got suspicious and started protesting along with the local people. On receiving the information, the police reached the people and recorded the statement of the victim’s mother. In the night itself, the forensic team collected the remains and other evidence of the girl. The fodder including the priest was arrested. On Monday, a case was registered under other sections including POCSO (Law protecting children from sexual offences). The four arrested accused have been identified as Pujari Radheshyam (55) and Salim, Laxminarayan and Kuldeep.

Notice to stop business debate in Rajya Sabha
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has demanded death penalty for the accused. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have raised questions about law and order. Congress MP Shakti Singh Gehil on Tuesday stopped work in the Rajya Sabha and gave a notice to debate the incident.
