9 farmers get VK Superstar Raita Award Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: Nine farmers From Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Kasaragod was the recipient of VK Superstar Raita 4.0 AwardsA platform to identify and identify progressive farmer, the ceremony was held in sulfur form, ganjimutto, on Friday. it is organized by Vijay Karnataka (VK) Kannada daily.
The farmers who won the award are Anand Rai, Surambailu, Sarve, Puttur Taluk; Tirumaleshwar Bhat Kuriyaje, Sulia Taluk; Harish J Shetty, Mulki, Mangaluru Taluk; Harish Kodala, Karopadi, Bantwal Taluk; Abhinandan, Indabettu, Belthangadi Taluk; Ananthapadmanabha Bhat, Sorinje, Mangaluru Taluk; Keshav Bhandari, Kodimbadi, Puttur Taluk; Satyanarayana Bellery, Kinnigaru, Kasaragod and Lakshmi MS, Munchikana, Badiyadka, Kasaragod.
The ceremony was held post-Covid-appropriate behavior and the superstar was brought in a procession, and the awards were given in an decorated palanquin.
Underlining the importance of agriculture, Swami Ekgamyananda of Ramakrishna Math expressed happiness that people are returning to farming after the pandemic. He regretted that the agricultural produce was not getting a fair price, which was one of the reasons why the agriculture sector was suffering. He called upon the farmers to be progressive and innovative.
Describing it as a noble profession, Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik said that his efforts of three decades are now paying off, his farm is getting international recognition for organic products. He said that the concept of VK is new and it has changed the mindset of the people.
SCDCC Bank Chairman MN Rajendra Kumar, who inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp, said that agriculture loans in DK are being repaid 100%, and they have not seen any farmer death due to financial reasons in the last two decades. He also appreciated the efforts of VK in recognizing and felicitating the farmers.
On this occasion, the guests released a special supplement brought on the occasion.
Mangaluru City North MLA Bharat Shetty, DK Agriculture Department Joint Director Sita MC and Horticulture Department Deputy Director HR Naik were present.
