Jatin has kept in touch Renu SharmaYashpal’s wife. She revealed that she had a complicated pregnancy during the 1983 World Cup and Yashpal used to call her almost every evening at the neighbor’s house (gone are the days when we all didn’t have phones and I am talking about landlines) .

Recalling his training period for a film recreating the 1983 tournament played in the UK, Jatin says his reference point was the video, but Balwinder Singh Sandhu, the official coach appointed by the makers of 83, helped him a lot. . “I used to think that the ball is only meant to be hit. Sandhu ji taught me class and craftsmanship.”
