Rajkot: Eight people were booked for submitting forged Aadhaar cards and domicile certificates to qualify for a naval recruitment drive at INS Valsura, the Indian Navy’s premier power training establishment in Jamnagar.
All the six candidates were arrested following a complaint lodged at the Bedi Marine Police Station based on an application submitted by Lieutenant Commandant Manoj Bisht, Recruit of INS Valsura.
The police started investigation on the same lines as soon as a big racket was detected. “It seems that an organized group had committed the forgery. A detailed investigation is underway and the accused have been identified,” said Dipan Bhadran, superintendent of police, Jamnagar.
The recruitment process for the posts of Senior Secondary Recruit, Artificer Apprentice and Matric Recruit was started from 6th December.
While the registration process was done online, candidates were called in person for document verification on Tuesday.
The recruitment team got doubts about six candidates Gaurav Chahar, Shrikant Singh, Chandrakant Kushwaha, Santosh Sipat, Kamlesh Saran and Kirit Pal during the document verification process.
His Aadhaar card revealed that he was a resident of Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Also, the domicile certificates submitted by him were issued by the Mamlatdar office in Gandhinagar.
But the mark sheets of their board examinations were from different states. Also, none of them was able to speak in the Gujarati language.
During the interrogation, Six candidates told naval officers that they are students of Balaji Defense Academy in Alwar, Rajasthan Rajasthan.
All of them were residents of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Academy administrator Rajendrasinh Yadav had submitted the applications of six candidates online.
Yadav also made fake Aadhar cards and domicile certificates for six candidates. Yadav’s brother Vimal had handed over fake documents and call letters to six candidates for the recruitment drive in Jamnagar.
Yadav, his brother Vimal and six candidates have been booked under IPC sections 465 (punishment for forgery), 466 (forgery of record), 468 (forgery with intent to deceive), 471 (using fake documents as genuine) Case was registered.
Further investigation is on in the matter.
The police said that they have started the process of nabbing Yadav and his brother based on the statements of the six candidates.
