Kanpur: About 709 endangered tortoises have been confiscated by the arrest of a person late on Tuesday night in Bidhuna Kotwali police station area of Auraiya district.
Acting on specific inputs, the police raided the hideout in Kiratpur village of Tawli area and arrested a person along with a large consignment of tortoises. asp Shishya Pal Said that the accused has been identified Sun About 709 turtles were recovered from their possession.
