6,849 new Covid-19 cases, 61 deaths in Kerala Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: 6,849 new cases of corona virus were reported in the state on Wednesday, while 69,334 samples were tested.
Of the known cases, 2,762 people were fully vaccinated. Of these, 1,001 people had received a single shot, while 2,026 did not take a single dose.
There are currently 63,752 active cases, of which 7% are either admitted in hospitals or other treatment centres. Meanwhile, recently 61 deaths were confirmed due to COVID, taking the number of related deaths in the state to 36,475. At the same time, 6,046 patients have recovered from the disease.
Of the new cases, 6,473 cases have been infected by local transmission. The contact source of infection for 324 could not be traced. Among those infected, 34 are health professionals and 18 people have come from outside the state.
Ernakulam reported the highest number of 958 cases, followed by Kozhikode (932). Thiruvananthapuram (839), Thrissur (760), Kottayam (700), kollam (523), Kannur (437), Wayanad (330), Idukki (292), Alappuzha (267), Palakkad (249), Pathanamthitta (240), Malappuram (237) and Kasaragod (85).
The district-wise breakup of patients who tested negative are Kollam (1,039), Thrissur (1,014), Thiruvananthapuram (694), Ernakulam (634), Kottayam (438), Kannura (387), Kozhikode (372), Pathanamthitta (257). , Idukki (233), Palakkad (228), Malappuram (223), Alappuzha 201), Wayanad (183) and Kasaragod (143).
A total of 2,08,004 persons are currently under observation in various districts of the state, of which 2,02,837 are at their homes or institutional quarantine centres, and 5,167 are in isolation in hospitals. As per the Weekly Infection Population Ratio (WIPR), the WIPR is more than 10% in 46 wards of 39 local bodies. Strict lockdown restrictions have been implemented in these wards.
