NEW DELHI: The national capital reported 66 Covid-19 cases and two deaths due to the infection on Sunday, while the positivity rate here stood at 0.09 per cent as per the data shared by the health department.
With the new cases, the total number of infections in the city rose to 14,35,910. Out of this, more than 14.10 lakh patients have recovered from the disease.
The death toll now stands at 25,043.
On Saturday, Delhi recorded 66 new cases of Covid-19 with a positivity rate of 0.09 per cent and zero deaths.
On Friday, the city had reported 58 cases and one death.
Delhi currently has 579 active cases and out of which 167 are being treated at home.
The bulletin states that the number of containment zones is 309.
The bulletin said 70,758 tests were conducted including 49,568 RT-PCR tests on Saturday.
Delhi battled a brutal second wave of the pandemic with oxygen shortages in hospitals across the city claiming a large number of lives.
On April 20, the capital recorded 28,395 cases, the highest in the city since the start of the pandemic. The case positivity rate on April 22 was 36.2 per cent.
The highest number of 448 deaths occurred on 3 May.
The capital has recorded 2,369 cases of coronavirus in the last 30 days (since June 24), an average of 79 cases in a day.
Experts said that a large number of people now have immunity to the coronavirus due to past infections and vaccinations, but to avoid a crisis like a second wave, a protected approach is needed in terms of implementing restrictive measures.
