6,563 COVID cases reported in India, over 8,000 cured in 24 hours; Active cases down to 82,267

  • India recorded 6,563 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
  • The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.39 percent.
  • More than 137.67 crore vaccine doses have been given so far.

India recorded 6,563 new COVID-19 cases with 132 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Monday, there were a total of 8,077 discharges in the country, taking the total number of cured people to 3,41,87,017.

The daily increase in new coronavirus infections has been recorded below 15,000 for the past 53 days. Ministry data shows that the total active cases of COVID-19 in India has come down to 82,267 (lowest in 572 days).

Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, more than 137.67 crore vaccine doses have been given so far.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16.

It crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October, 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December. India crossed the grim milestone of 20 million on 4 May and 30 million on 23 June.
