Kolkata: Kovid-19 cases continue to rise sharply in India West Bengal A health department bulletin said that for the past one week, the state recorded 6,153 infections, of which 3,194 were in Kolkata on Sunday.

The positivity rate rose to 15.93 per cent from 12.02 per cent the previous day, while the number of daily tests increased from 37,542 on Saturday to 38,633 on Sunday.
The bulletin said that North 24 Parganas stood second after Kolkata in terms of infection with 994 cases on Sunday, up from 688 the previous day.
Apart from Kolkata and North 24 Parganas, other districts have recorded high incidence of cases in Howrah (595), South 24 Parganas (280), Paschim Bardhaman (257), Hooghly (218), Birbhum (140) and Nadia (102) Went. , according to the data.
