6 members of the family got electrocuted in Chhatarpur, MP.
Six members of a family were electrocuted during a construction work in a village in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning.
Bijawar police station in-charge Mukesh Singh Thakur said that the incident took place in Mahua Jhala village, about 42 km from the district headquarters, when the construction work of the septic tank was going on.
One of the victims descended into the tank to remove the shuttering plates used to lay down the roof slab.
However, due to the lighting arrangement in the tank, the electric current spread through the plates and the person got electrocuted, the official said.
He said that other victims got down in the tank to save their family member and they also got electrocuted.
Six of them were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them brought dead, he said, adding that the deceased were in the age group of 20 to 65 years.
