53 units fine for breeding mosquitoes in Ahmedabad Ahmedabad News – Times of India

Ahmedabad: As the number of cases vector borne diseases The city-based AMC Malaria Control Department on Monday investigated 380 commercial establishments and fined 53 of them. mosquito breeding sites

Teams from seven zones of the civic body collected a total fine of Rs 6.3 lakh from the occupants of buildings where Mosquito reproduction was found. The civic body issued notices to 254 establishments it checked.
The highest fine was collected from commercial buildings in the North West Zone at Rs 2,02,500, followed by the South West Zone at Rs 1,03,000 and the West Zone at Rs 93,000. Cargo Motors in Gota was fined the highest at Rs 35,000, followed by Bhavin Construction and Deh Home Town-04 in Chandkheda with a fine of Rs 30,000. The AMC team also found mosquitoes breeding at Bopal fire station.
An AMC official said, “Mosquitoes were found breeding at the Bopal fire station and we imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. We found flower pots, water tanks, lift pits and even refrigerator trays on terraces. I also found breeding sites.”
