Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson isn’t ready for marriage just yet! The rapper-entrepreneur recently shared insights into his personal life, revealing his choice to stay unmarried. During his appearance on Stephen Colbert’s The Late Show on Wednesday, 50 Cent said that he is happy with his single status and that abstaining from romantic distractions has allowed him to concentrate on his personal growth. The conversation took an interesting turn when Colbert began reading a magazine headline about 50 Cent’s sex-free lifestyle. The rapper responded, “Listen, when you calm down, you can focus. I’ve been good to me. Money is when things start getting complicated, things start getting confusing, ‘cause people come in for different reasons.”
He further reflected on his dating experiences, noting that he evaluates potential romantic interests carefully. “If you go on a date but you have no interest in anything, I can see you now. I said, ‘God damn, girl, you’re fine, but you’ve got nothing going on,’” he joked.
When asked if romantic relationships can affect one’s judgement, the rapper wholeheartedly agreed, saying that such relationships could derail focus and interfere with personal goals.
During the conversation, when Colbert asked if the rapper had ever considered marriage, 50 Cent responded, “I’m safe. I’m not a happy hostage. I’m here. I’m free. I made some mistakes, just not that one.” He also opened up on his single life, highlighting his dedication to self-improvement, including his progress at the gym. Cent boasted about lifting 105-pound dumbbells now.
While the In Da Club hitmaker has shunned the idea of marriage, 50 Cent has had his share of high-profile relationships. He was linked to singer Ciara from 2007 to 2010, during which they collaborated on several projects before parting ways.
50 Cent was also rumoured to have dated comedian Chelsea Handler.
The rapper was most recently linked to former model Jamira Haines, though details about their relationship remain unclear. 50 Cent is a father of two — his son Marquise Jackson with Shaniqua Tompkins and his younger son Sire Jackson with model Daphne Jay.
