AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi house vandalised in Delhi.
Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested five members of Hindu Sena for vandalizing the official residence of AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Ashoka Road.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav said that five people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident.
Police said that they got information about the incident around 5 pm and reached the spot.
A senior police officer said that a case has been registered against the accused at the Parliament Street police station for causing damage to public property.
In a video clip on social media, Hindu Sena state president Lalit Kumar said that they had gone to Owaisi’s residence to teach him a lesson as he speaks against Hindus in his rallies.
At around 4 pm, members of the Hindu Sena ransacked Owaisi’s residence.
The organization’s national president Vishnu Gupta said he was hurt by the Hyderabad MP’s “anti-Hindu” statements.
Gupta said that the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief is constantly in the news for making anti-Hindu statements and a case has been registered against him in Uttar Pradesh.
Owaisi said, “BJP should be held responsible for the radicalization of the people. If an MP’s house is attacked like this, what message does it send? I had come to meet Shivpal Yadav, he is such a big leader of UP. Huh.” On the incident of vandalism in his Delhi house.
He said that Hindu Sena requests Owaisi not to make such statements.
Police said that the incident happened around 5 pm.
He said a PCR call was received following which five members of the Hindu Sena were arrested.
Those arrested are from northeast Delhi, police said as they ransacked the back gate of Owaisi’s residence.
