4,557 new cases of corona in Kerala, death toll is 41,439. Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Kochi: Kerala 4,557 new COVID-19 cases were reported with 315 COVID deaths – 52 new COVID deaths and 263 deaths certified as COVID-19 deaths based on the revised rules – on Saturday. With this, the death toll in the state rose to 41,439.
Thiruvananthapuram district reported maximum cases – 814, followed by Ernakulam (606), Kozhikode (566), Kottayam (347), Thrissur (489), Kollam (350), Kannur (276), Pathanamthitta (211), Malappuram ( 233), Alappuzha (160), Wayanad (135), Idukki (139), Palakkad (151) and Kasaragod
(80). While nine new Covid patients had returned from outside the state, 4,305 people contracted the virus through contact. The source of infection of 205 patients remains unknown. Thirty-eight health workers also tested positive for Covid-19.
A total of 58,817 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Of the 43,771 active COVID cases reported, only 7.6% patients have been admitted to hospitals.
Now, 96.4% of the eligible population has received one dose of the vaccine, while 67.3% have received two doses of the vaccine. The health department said that Kerala has the highest number of vaccinations per million in India.
Of the 4,557 new patients, 3,942 were eligible for vaccination. Of these, 463 took one dose and 2,202 took two doses. However, 1,277 people were not reported to have received the vaccine.
