The Chennai Police Crime Branch-Crime Investigative Department (CB-CID) has arrested four more police officials in connection with the alleged custodial death of Vignesh. The CB-CID had already arrested two police officials earlier.
The six police officials were booked under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the India Penal Code (IPC) and the SC/ST atrocities act. The arrests were made on the basis of the autopsy report of the 25-year-old deceased.
The six arrested police officials were identified as constables Munaf, Ponraj, head constable Kumar, home guard Deepak and two Armed Reserve (AR) constables.
