4 killed, 4 others injured after falling into a ditch in Shishu Ramban – Kashmir Reader

JAMMU: Four people, including an infant, were killed and several others injured when a vehicle carrying laborers from Chhattisgarh fell into a deep gorge near Khooni Nala in Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in the early hours of Wednesday. , officials said.

He said a Tata mobile (JK02AP-4588) was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when the driver lost control on it and the load carrier rolled into a deep gorge.

Three people died on the spot and their bodies were recovered by the Quick Action Team and SDRF team, besides local people who reached the spot immediately after the accident.

Five injured, including an 8-month-old boy, identified as Aryan, son of Deepak Sahu, were evacuated and shifted to the hospital. However, the newborn died on the way to the Government District Hospital Ramban.

The three others killed have been identified as Narayan Manji (21) son Ramesh Manji, Dinesh Kumar (17) son Baaghi Rath and Magh Lal (17) son Amar Singh.

SHO Ramsu Rahouf Khan said that three people died on the spot, while the child succumbed to his injuries before being admitted to the hospital.

He said that four other people injured in the accident have been admitted to the hospital. He said that a case has been registered and investigation has been started. (GNS)
