North India is in the grip of cold wave
North and northwest India is in the grip of cold wave as dense fog adversely affected air, rail and road traffic and seven people died in two road accidents in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, January 9.
Meanwhile, Delhi witnessed cold wave conditions for the fifth consecutive day on Monday as dense fog reduced visibility to just 25 metres, officials said.
The outbreak of cold wave in Delhi is so severe that for five consecutive days the minimum temperature in the national capital has been recorded lower than most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Cold wave will reduce from the night of January 10
However, the IMD forecast predicts that the cold wave will subside in Delhi-NCR from the night of January 10.
“Due to an approaching Western Disturbance on January 10, the minimum temperature is very likely to increase by 2-4 degree Celsius over many parts of northwest India,” the IMD said in a statement.
