35,662 new Covid-19 cases, 281 deaths reported in India in last 24 hours

New Delhi: India has reported 35,662 new Covid-19 cases, and 281 deaths. So, the current number of active cases is 3,40,639 and recoveries are 3,26,32,222.

According to ANI, India conducted the highest ever single-day vaccination with 25 million doses given in the last 24 hours.

Kerala recorded 23,260 COVID cases and 131 deaths on Friday.

India administered a record number of over 2.50 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 71st birthday on Friday, in what Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya described as a golden chapter in world history.

According to data from the Co-WIN portal, the cumulative number of doses administered in the country continued to rise throughout the day with the country crossing 79.33 crore at midnight (12 am).

Many, including NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, said India has set a world record in delivering daily COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands reported only one new COVID-19 case, taking the tally to 7,596 in the Union Territory, a health official said on Saturday. The official said that a single COVID-19 case was detected during local contact tracing.
