32 killed as Nepalese passenger plane with 72 people onboard crashes in Pokhara – Kashmir Reader

Kathmandu, Jan 15 (PTI) A Nepalese passenger plane carrying 72 people, including 10 foreigners, plunged into a river gorge while landing at the Pokhara airport on Sunday, killing at least 32 people and eight bodies were recovered.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), the 9N-ANC ATR-72 aircraft of Yeti Airlines took off from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 10:33 am. Pokhara is a major tourist destination of the Himalayan nation.

While landing at Pokhara airport, the plane crashed on the banks of Seti river between the old airport and the new airport. The Republica newspaper reported that there were a total of 68 passengers and four crew members.
