300 guests allowed at weddings, curfew till February 11 in Gujarat | Ahmedabad News – Times of India

GANDHINAGAR: In a marked modification to existing Covid-19 guidelines, the state government on Thursday decided to allow 300 guests to attend weddings at open plots instead of the existing limit of 150 persons. The revised guidelines will be applicable from Friday.
The core committee also decided to extend the night curfew – from 10pm to 6am – in the eight major cities and 19 towns of the state, till February 11.
On January 11, amid the surge in Covid-19 cases, the state government capped the number of guests at weddings and social, educational, religious and political functions at 150.
Before January 11, 400 persons were allowed to attend these gatherings.
The CM-led core committee decided that if such gatherings are held in closed premises, the maximum number of people allowed will be 150.
No other changes have been made to the Covid-19 guidelines. Hotels and restaurants can do home deliveries round the clock as earlier. Other guidelines with respect to commercial establishments, public transport, parks and gardens, educational institutions and the like remain unchanged, a government release said.
Meanwhile, the state government is expected to decide on whether to resume in-person schooling for students of Classes 1 to 9 on March 5.
