3 Udaipur murder accused sent to judicial custody till August 1

Riyaz Akhtari, also known as Riyaz Attari, Ghaus Mohammad and Farhad Mohammad Sheikh, was in the custody of the NIA, and was produced in court by a team of the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency amid tight security.

According to a public prosecutor, a designated National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on Saturday sent three accused in the Udaipur tailor murder case to judicial custody till August 1. Riyaz Akhtari, also known as Riyaz Attari, Ghaus Mohammad and Farhad Mohammad Sheikh, was in the custody of the NIA, and was produced in court by a team of the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency amid tight security.

Special Public Prosecutor TP Sharma said, “The court has ordered to send him to judicial custody till August 1. The NIA has so far arrested a total of seven people in the horrific murder case, out of which four – Mohsin, Asif, Mohammad Mohsin and Wasim Ali – are already in judicial custody till August 1. The 48-year-old tailor was Kanhaiya Lal. On June 28, Riyaz Akhtari and Ghaus Mohammad, who were knife-wielding at his shop in Udaipur’s Dhan Mandi police station area, killed him over a controversial post on social media.

The duo had posted a disgusting video of the crime online. Within a few hours of carrying out the crime, both were caught from Rajsamand. The remaining five were later arrested. The NIA took up the matter on June 29.
