Joint operation by Army and Police is going on in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that so far 2 terrorists have been killed in this encounter. One of them has been identified as a Pakistani terrorist, who was associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. At present, the security forces have surrounded 2-3 terrorists in the area.

Apart from Kupwara, an encounter has started between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam Damhal Hanji Pora area of Kashmir. The security forces have started this operation after getting information from terrorist Shaukat Ahmed Sheikh, who was recently arrested by the army.
The cases of target killing in Kashmir are not taking its name to stop. On Friday, a bullet riddled body of a police sub-inspector was found under mysterious circumstances in Pampore area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Two pistol cartridges were also recovered from the spot. After the incident, the security forces started the search operation in the entire area.
The sub-inspector, identified as Farooq Ahmed Mir (50), was posted in 23 Battalion IRP, Lethpora, Pampora. His family consists of father, wife and three children. These included two daughters and a son.
