The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara district has detained three persons, including a sarpanch, under the Public Safety Act for their involvement in drug trafficking in the area.
Warrants were issued against the three by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir under the Public Safety Act. Sharing the details, the police said that the accused were involved in drug smuggling and tried to lure local youth into their activities.
The accused have been identified as Darpora Sarpanch Lolab Manzoor Ahmed Lone, Bilal Ahmed Gani and Tariq Ahmed Bhat.
