Mumbai Police has arrested a 25-year-old female actor for allegedly repeatedly assaulting her house help. According to reports, the reason for the attack is being told that the domestic helper is not working properly. According to a tweet by news agency ANI, the actor harassed the house help for not completing the work on time.
The police swung into action after the victim lodged a complaint against the actor.
The victim said that she could not file a complaint earlier and accused the actor of making videos of her and clicking photos without clothes. The accused has been sent to police custody till Monday.
According to reports, the actress, a Versova resident, has been arrested for allegedly helping her, who has also alleged that the former was stripped and harassed. Further, the victim further told the police that the actor attacked her with sandals causing a head injury.
When the victim was taken to the hospital, her family members saw her injured and informed the police. The police have currently registered an FIR with the Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) under sections 326 (assault), 354 (b) (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to commit assault) and section 504 (intentional insult).
Apart from the torture, reports stated that the actor was aware that the housewife was a minor and still hired her. The victim said that she was tolerating the abuse for a long time, but the recent attack left her no option but to file a complaint.
