In a conversation with News18.com, Rakul explains why this is an important year for her, how she doesn’t fear over-exposure due to so many releases, how she has found a place in the industry and also says that marriage There is no speculation about it. Don’t disturb him.

You have around 10 films in the pipeline. How are you balancing your time?

(laughs) I have been shooting him for the last few years amid the pandemic. I can’t wait for them to release because I want people to watch my films. So far, including Recall Value De De Pyaar De, there is only one or two Hindi films that I have done. There is a lot of variation in my roles and all the characters are different from each other so I really want the audience to watch it and give their opinion. When it comes to balancing my time, I am a multi-tasker and workaholic and I just love my job.

Do you have a fear of greater risk given the number of projects in the pipeline?

People keep saying but I didn’t plan it that way. Be it going on floors or the release of the film, some projects got delayed due to the pandemic. I think people understand this. Also, I am not a person who lives in fear. I always look on the bright side. I am really grateful that I have some really good films and hopefully they release in theaters this year. I know there is a lot of responsibility but like I said I am really looking forward to this year. I am just in the phase of being grateful, because I am getting a chance to do so many things. I still have much more to do. I hope that once these films come out, I will have more films and better characters to work in. I am really excited about 2022 as it is an important year in my career.

Now you being one of the most sought after actors, do you notice a change in the behavior of Hindi film industry towards you as compared to the time when you just started?

Is this not destined to happen? There’s definitely a difference and I can see it’s happened over the years. As you do well and become popular, so does the attitude of the people around you. Work gets more work than work and this has always been my belief. Over the years the opportunities that have come my way have gotten better. I am happy to be a part of so many films. I hope things get better and get back to normal. There is a little uncertainty and unpredictable situation right now, but I hope this time the delay is not really long.

You have had immense success in recent years. Do you have a sense of belonging in the industry, given that you have no one to guide you?

yes i do And I started getting that belonging on my own. I don’t know anything else that I can do. I live, breathe and dream in movies. I became who I am thanks to the film industry. I started modeling at the age of 18 and became an actress at the age of 21, so what I am today in terms of my character, experience, exposure and knowledge is all because of the industry. Success and failure have shaped me into the person I am. I belong to the film industry and nowhere else.

But would you agree that it is difficult to break into the film industry without any guidance?

Anytime you try to take a less traveled road, it’s tough. To be in the industry, there is no action plan. If you want to become a doctor then you know that you have to study MBBS. There is no step by step process to become an actor. When I started there was no one to guide me. It was all trial and error and I learned from my auditions and watching the people around me. Ultimately your talent will get you the place.

Is that why you recently launched an app with your brother to help newbies both in and out of the camera? Tell us something about this.

The idea first sprouted during the lockdown when everything was available at a click of a button and things were going digital. There was a lot of talk about the reach of the film industry and we wondered why is it so complicated to make a career in the film industry? It took almost a year to develop an app. We have created it keeping in mind our experience during audition days and what exactly people need to be told and what information they need. The idea is about bridging the gap between people’s dreams and the industry. Using our contacts and industry contacts, we are trying to provide a platform for all. We truly believe that there is a lot of talent in our country especially in the interiors and not everyone has the opportunity or access to live their dreams. We are pleased with the response so far and we look forward to doing many more collaborations in the future.

With Chhatriwali you have raised a unique topic. How confident are you to headline a project on your own?

This is indeed a very unique project. This is a subject that needs to be spoken about and thankfully we have a medium (film) through which we can talk about important issues in a subtle way and educate the audience in the process. I became very confident about this project because the people I was working with, Ronnie Screwvala, director Tejas Prabha Vijay Devaskar and others in the team showed so much faith in me. When the script came to me, they said that they can only see me in it and that gave me a lot of impetus to play such an interesting and challenging character. We have wrapped the shooting of the film and all I am saying is that the audience will love it as it is a very relevant subject.

One of your upcoming projects includes Indian 2. Did the decision to do the film also come from the fact that you didn’t want to lose your original audience?

Indian 2 started long before covid entered our lives. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to shoot for the last two years. As I have been told, I do not live in fear and I do not choose projects thinking of losing the original audience. I am confident not to lose them because a part of my heart is there (down south) and a part of it is here. My fans from the south who remember seeing me there will also see my Hindi films. As an actor, my only criterion is to have good films, whatever the language. Today everyone is making pan India movies and entertainment is not limited to few sectors. I believe it is the emotional language of storytelling and if it has a good story it will work everywhere.

Do wedding speculations bother you?

Be it marriage or any other rumors about bullshit that don’t exist especially don’t bother me at all. I have learned to keep my blinders on and keep working. I have been transparent in my life and whenever that step has to be taken, I will be the first one to talk about it, as I did this time too. I only feel that people should not speculate and wait for the truth to come out. Right now my focus is on my work and the 10 films that I have and the work that is coming. Everything else will happen when it is due.
