2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N conceived as a police car, belongs to Rohit Shetty’s films

Mahindra has a long history of serving the armed forces. Models like Mahindra Bolero, Scorpio and the licensed version of the civilian Jeep are being used by various armed forces of the country. Now, the Indian automaker is all set to introduce the third generation Mahindra Scorpio in the Indian market. It will be called Scorpio-N and can also be seen serving in various police departments of the country. Well, looks like someone with Photoshop skills at Motorbeam was also fascinated by a police car avatar of the Mahindra Scorpio-N. And hence decided to introduce a police car version of the upcoming Mahindra SUV.

In terms of changes, police car iteration Mahindra Scorpio-N A dress is found which is very typical of patrol vehicles. In addition, it has roof-mounted beacon lights. Plus, this Scorpio-N police car has a nudge guard mounted on its nose to deter criminals trying to escape from a police chase. Other aspects of the SUV remain unchanged in this rendering. Dimensionally, the Mahindra Scorpio-N will be 4,662mm long, 1,917mm wide and 1,870mm high. It will be sold in two seating configurations – 6-seater and 7-seater. The former will feature captain chairs for the middle row, while the latter will have a bench seat.

Talking about the mechanical specifications of the Mahindra Scorpio-N, it will be sold with two engine options – 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbocharged diesel engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. The Scorpio-N will also be available with a 4×4 drivetrain with a lower ratio gearbox. Its wheelbase will be 2,750mm. It is expected to be a capable off-roader. Along with a solid rear axle, the Scorpio-N is also likely to get a locking rear differential.

Mahindra Scorpio-N has no rival yet. Nevertheless, potential buyers of models like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari will keep the Scorpio-N on their list. Coming to the prices, the entry-grade petrol trim is expected to start from around Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom. The price of the range-topper can go up to Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom.
