After the murder that took place 20 years ago in Karkabhat village of Balod district of Chhattisgarh, the remains of the dead body have been found by the police-administration after digging. This came to light when a person approached the police and told that I had killed my friend in the year 2003 and his spirit has been troubling me for many years.

The whole matter is of Balod police station area. According to the information, the accused Tikam Koliyar (38 years) and Chhaveshwar Goyal of the village were friends. At that time both the friends were about 18 years old. Tikam was having an affair with a girl, who is his wife today. His friend Chhaveshwar used to have bad intentions on his girlfriend Ashwini Koliyar.

He often used to molest her, the girl had told this to her boyfriend as well. So he had explained to the friend. But still one day Chhaveshwar tried to rape Ashwini. When Tikam came to know about this, he beat Chhaveshwar to death. The dead body was buried near the Karkabhat reservoir, 300 meters away from the village.

On April 19, on the orders of the SDM, the excavation was done in the presence of the Tehsildar and the police team.

Here Chhaveshwar Goyal’s family was upset due to his disappearance. They searched for him here and there a lot, but could not find him. In 2003 itself, he filed a missing report of his son. But the police could not find him. At the same time, the accused married his girlfriend. Even after marriage, he did not even tell his wife that he had killed his friend.

Bones, clothes and one rupee coin have been recovered in the excavation.

Meanwhile, Tikam and his wife had two children. After a few years of the incident, the accused started getting disturbed. He started talking about troubling the soul of his friend. In 2021, he started telling the villagers and his wife that he had killed and buried his friend in 2003. At that time he had also gone to the police station in front of the villagers and confessed his crime. On the spot of the accused, the police-administration had also conducted excavations at different places 3-4 times, but when the body was not found, both the villagers and the police assumed that Tikam was mentally deranged.

The investigating officer said that after the arrival of the lab report, it will be known whether the bones are of human or animal.

Here Tikam always kept telling everyone that he had killed his friend. His spirit comes in my dreams. He sees me day and night. His spirit is troubling me. Apart from the police, the father of the deceased was constantly giving applications to senior officers and demanding an inquiry into the entire matter. He said that his son had not gone missing, but had been murdered.

The bones and clothes found in the excavation were sent for forensic examination.

The father of the deceased, Jagdish Goyal once again appealed to the police and administration officials to investigate the murder of the son and said that the excavation should be done again where the accused Tikam is telling. After which, on the orders of SDM Sheetal Bansal, on Wednesday, April 19, in the presence of police, Tehsildar Parmeshwar Mandavi and a team of doctors, JCB excavation was done at the behest of the accused. 7 bones, clothes and one rupee coin have been recovered in the excavation. All the goods have been sent for forensic examination.

In this case, Assistant Sub-Inspector Kanta Ram told, excavation has been done on the orders of SDM. According to him, excavation has been done towards Karkabhat Dam. Where 7 bones and clothes have been found. However, he said that only after forensic examination it would be possible to confirm whether these bones belong to humans or animals. On the other hand, station in-charge Naveen Borkar told that on the complaint of Jagdish Goyal and on the mark of Tikam, excavation has been done again and now the path has been established. After investigation, an offense will be registered against the accused. ASP Harish Rathore said that if the forensic investigation reveals the presence of human bones, then its DNA test will be done. Further action will be taken after his report comes.
