2 minor girl students thrown from the roof of the hostel: one sister dies, the other is in critical condition; Agitated mob pelted stones on police, vehicles were burnt

Two minor girl students were thrown down by a maniac from the roof of a hostel in Bahadurpur, Patna City. One died in the accident. The other has been admitted to PMCH in an injured condition, where his condition remains critical. Both the girls were each other’s sister. Angry people created a ruckus after the incident.

After getting information about the incident, a crowd of people started pelting stones at Bahadurpur police who reached the spot. Several police vehicles were set on fire. In this accident, more than a dozen police personnel including Bahadurpur police station in-charge, Sultanganj police station in-charge were badly injured.

According to the information, both the sisters were the daughters of Nandlal Gupta, who lived in a rented house in Ramkrishna Nagar Colony. Nandlal Gupta hails from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh and does fruit business in Bahadurpur fruit market. They had two daughters Saloni (13 years old) and Sonali (10 years old). Elder daughter Saloni died on the spot after being thrown from the terrace while Sonali is seriously injured.

The angry mob also torched vehicles parked under the hostel.

After the incident, the local people recovered a knife from the accused youth. Before that, he caught hold of him and beat him up. The police intervened and took the youth into their possession and brought him to Bahadurpur police station. The youth has been identified as Vivek Kumar. He is said to be a resident of Ramakrishna Nagar Colony. He is a resident of Darbhanga and was preparing for competitive exams by staying here since 2012. The young man is also said to be mentally challenged.

According to Patna SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon, the boy who threw the girls is in police custody. Why did the accused youth Vivek do this? What did the two sisters go to do in that hostel? It is not known about this yet. The girl who is injured is being treated in the hospital. The reason behind the incident will be clear only after taking the statement of the girl.

The anger of the people was so tremendous that not only was the police pelting stones fiercely on the police, but many other vehicles including police vehicles were also set on fire. Many policemen saved their lives by running away.
